Mid Week Geology Group (MWGG) is a group of enthusiastic amateur or ex professional geologists – or those who have used geology in some way through their work. Members come from across Yorkshire (though not exclusively).
In the summer we run a series of day field trips often within Yorkshire, but also further afield – see our current Programme. There is also usually one mid week residential, often in May, to areas further afield – see also Past Events.
In the winter we may have between 2 and 4 indoor meetings with lectures/presentations from within or outside the membership. Or we may visit a museum, do a building stones walk or similar event.
As our name indicates, our meetings and field trips are mid-week. The group therefore consists mainly of retirees, or those who work part-time or flexibly.
